Blurb-Worthy Books for “Black Friday”

Fall is the season for publishing and buying books. Having become (with the help of yesterday’s Thanksgiving holiday) consciously thankful for all that we have, most North American’s will express their actual dissatisfaction with the number of their possessions  by rushing out to purchase as much stuff as they can on “Black Friday.” Let’s admit it: Black Friday, Cyber Monday and the holiday rush can be quite fun, but it wouldn’t hurt to temper our spending sprees by considering our priorities and discerning which purchases will actually serve us (and the recipients of our gifts) well. Though we certainly don’t have the corner on good resources, here are three books that Stephen Um and/or Richard Lints found to be “blurb-worthy.” You might consider picking one up or giving one away as a gift:

For pastors, ministry leaders and seminarians: Timothy Keller – Center Church

For daily, moving, gospel reminders in the New Year: CCEF – Heart of the Matter

For your inner-theologian: Christopher Morgan and Robert Peterson – The Kingdom of God
