A Key Resource for Renewal in New England

Dynamics of Spiritual LifeAs we quickly approach the TGCNE fall conference, our minds increasingly turn to what renewal might look like in the broader New England region. What would a thriving New England gospel witness look like? What would be the mark of a revived church? How would the lives of individual Christians be changed? What effect might we have on our cities and towns? Though there are many great resources for considering these questions, one of the best is Richard Lovelace’s Dynamics of the Spiritual Life. Though we’ve recommended it before, it’s worth pointing to again in light of a recent post by Justin Taylor.

Taylor gathers thoughts from Tim Keller, David Powlison, and Ray Ortlund on why this 30-year-old book is still a must read. These men consider it “a book…we can’t do without,” “pure gold.” As we dream together about renewal in our lives and churches, consider picking up this essential resource. Or, if you can’t carve out the space for this lengthy book, check out Lovelace’s shorter piece: Renewal as a Way of Life.
